Job Description

At HALL Family of Wines, we are seeking to fill a Harvest Lab Technician role who will be an integral member of the Lab Team during bottling and harvest seasons.

Harvest at HALL is a fast-paced and demanding environment. We’re looking for an individual who is dedicated, has a positive attitude, has lots of energy, and can work well as part of a team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in ultra-premium winemaking in a state-of-the-art, family-owned winery.


Sample wine or must from tanks or barrels.
Assist Lab Technicians with performing pH, TA, Brix, and nutritional analysis on grape and juice samples.
Perform wine analysis using equipment such as an auto-titrator, enzymatic analyzer, pH meter, DMA, turbidimeter, and DO meter.
Assist lab team with bottling preparation and QC check.
Work in the cellar as needed. Duties will include equipment sanitation, pump overs, and wine movements including barrel filling and racking.
Assist with projects as required; support laboratory needs, or projects as requested.
Work safely and maintain a clean workstation.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Perform daily standardization and instrument calibration.
Prepare laboratory chemicals and reagents.

Must be willing to work long and irregular hours during peak harvest season.
Standing for long periods of time.
Ability to lift at least 45 pounds (one case of wine).
Ideal candidates will have an educational background in enology, chemistry, biology, or other related fields. Courses in enology or familiarity with winemaking and an appreciation of wine are a plus.
Previous lab and/or cellar experience is a plus but not required.
Good interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively, and work well with other employees.
