Brasswood Bar + Kitchen is looking for a Sommelier/Floor Manager to join our restaurant team on a full-time basis. We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and organized individual who knows how to lead a team and lives and breathes hospitality. The Floor Manager will work directly with the restaurant Food & Beverage Director and GM to ensure an outstanding guest experience by delivering the highest level of hospitality and serving exceptional food. The ideal candidate will also possess a deep understanding of food and wine service mechanics and the ability to discuss wine eloquently and naturally and will excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment. Key Responsibilities:

– Manage and execute wine program for the restaurant via curating restaurant wine list to focus on local Napa/Sonoma brands and maintaining sustainable wine inventory levels.
– Make wine suggestions to guests and pair wines with menu items. Collaborate with chef to create proper pairing suggestions for daily menu. Educate staff on wines and proper service techniques.
– Update and produce wine lists, service documents, tasting menus daily as needed.
– Oversee daily operations of Brasswood Bar + Kitchen on shift.
– Manage all front-of-house (FOH) team members, including coaching staff and enforcing disciplinary measures on shift.
– Manage opening and/or end-of-day procedures including line-up, section assignments, FOH check-out/ tipout procedures on shift.
– Promote cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale and service culture among team members.
– Provide consistent and outstanding guest experience by resolving concerns from guests in a gracious and timely fashion.
– Maintain safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations.
– Communicate maintenance issues to property manager to ensure completion in a timely manner.
– Assist FOH staff as needed such as filling in for bartenders, servers, food runners, host.
– Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

– Three + years previous experience required in restaurant management/sommelier position.
– Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
– Solid understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen/bar equipment, and related processes.
– High level of professionalism and strong work ethic.
– Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
– Time management strengths with the ability to multi-task.
– Proven track record of effectively leading and managing others.
– Experience with POS and restaurant management software required. Heartland Restaurant and RESY knowledge are a plus.
– Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
